The Lord Lieutenant’s Fund for Youth (LLFFY), launched in 2005 by then Lord Lieutenant Lady Mary Holborow and Vice Lord Lieutenant Michael Galsworthy, aims to inspire and support exceptional ability in Cornwall’s young.
The LLFFY, now headed by Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall Colonel Edward Bolitho OBE, strives to help those young individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding talent in a particular field – such as sport, the arts, science, voluntary service and enterprise – but are struggling to achieve their ambition or progress in their chosen career because of hardship or disability.
The first awards were made in Spring 2006 and in the years since the Lord Lieutenant’s Fund for Youth has supported a great number of young people with a diverse range of talents to go on and accomplish great things.
Donations from individuals and the business community in Cornwall and farther afield allow the fund to continue its important work. If you are interested in supporting the fund by making a donation, please visit the ‘Ways to donate’ page.
The Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) has been administering the LLFFY since the launch. The CCF is an organisation that aims to improve the lives of others in Cornwall, those who are isolated, disadvantaged and vulnerable. The CCF administers a number of grant programmes for the benefit of community groups in Cornwall. Please view www.cornwallfoundation.com for more information.
