Young athlete receives funding

Georgia Doyle-Lay from Zelah received £600 from The Lord Lieutenant Fund for Youth towards equipment, travel and accommodation costs for competing at national races. Georgia is representing Cornwall in long jump and pentathlon and holds several county records. Georgia is very much a role model in the local community and especially in her secondary school. In November 2014 Georgia was shortlisted for Young Sports Leader in Cornwall award.

Georgia said “The grant was fantastic in helping towards the costs of the season and making competing in National competitions possible as fuel and accommodation is extremely costly.”
